At Home or at a Care Home

If the death was expected and the deceased was being seen by a doctor, then it would be sensible to call the doctor, or other appropriate health professional, to tell him/her of the fact and if appropriate he/she will come and see the deceased at home, or ask you to contact us to effect the removal to our premises. All good funeral directors carry out preservative measures and we will be happy to dress the deceased in their own clothes if you provide them for us. Occasionally we are asked to leave the deceased in situ until the time of the funeral, but it may be preferred to bring the deceased to the chapel of rest to carry out any preservative measures, before returning home. The doctor will usually produce a death certificate which needs to be taken to the register office. An appointment has to be made and, we will be pleased to do this for you, if it makes it easier. If in any doubt please call us to discuss this.

A service to
the living.
